Fairfax is about an hour east of our shop, and we make the run all the time.
From the bay at 266 Grove Farm Road in Front Royal, the trip to Fairfax is a straight shot down I-66 through the gap at Gainesville and into the inner suburbs, roughly an hour give or take the Beltway traffic. We have been doing that drive for years, so a Fairfax address is not an out of the way job for us. It is part of the regular rotation, same as anything in Fairfax County.
Fairfax City sits in the middle of Fairfax County, a few miles inside the Beltway, with George Mason University on the south side and Old Town Fairfax at its center. The houses here are a different animal than the new builds out by us. A lot of what we touch in this part of the county was put up in the postwar and mid century stretch, with copper supply lines, cast iron drains, and the occasional galvanized run that has been narrowing shut for fifty years. That history is the whole reason a plumber who actually knows older pipe is worth the call.
Because Fairfax is on city and county water and sewer, the problems we get out here lean toward aging interior pipe, slow drains, and water heaters that have aged past their warranty. We carry the parts and we carry the patience for both. If something is leaking behind a wall at ten at night, we answer the phone.
Bathroom remodel plumbing in FairfaxWhat Fairfax homes actually call us for
Water heaters, tank and tanklessWe are certified on most major brands. Older Fairfax homes run a lot of fifteen and twenty year old tanks that are well past due. We swap them, and we set up tankless when a basement remodel or a growing family makes it worth it.

Drains and hydro jettingCast iron and clay drain lines in the older neighborhoods around Old Town and Mason scale up and root in. Cabling clears the immediate clog; hydro jetting scours the pipe wall back to full diameter so you are not calling again next season.

Sewer line repair and camera inspectionBig mature trees on Fairfax lots mean roots in the lateral. We run a camera down the line first, find the actual break or intrusion, and fix the spot that needs it instead of guessing.

Leak detection and repipingSlab leaks, pinholes in old copper, a water bill that climbed for no reason. We locate it without tearing the house apart, and when a run of pipe is shot we repipe it properly.

Fixtures, gas lines, remodelsKitchen and bath remodels, fixture swaps, gas line work for a range or a generator. The kind of thing a renovation in a Fairfax neighborhood needs done to code and done right.

Commercial plumbingBackflow certified for the testing and assemblies a commercial property has to keep current. Restaurants, offices, and retail around the City of Fairfax and the corridor are on our list too.

On the job in FairfaxThe plumbing reality of an older inner suburb
People assume that because Fairfax is close in and well off, the plumbing is all modern. It is the opposite. The closer you get to Old Town Fairfax and the streets around George Mason, the older the housing stock, and old housing means old pipe. We see cast iron stacks that have rusted thin at the bottom, galvanized supply that has choked down to a pencil width opening, and original cabinet plumbing that was never meant to last this long.
The flip side is the corridor and the newer infill out toward Vienna and Oakton, where homes are bigger, baths are more numerous, and the demand on a single water heater is higher than the unit was sized for. Different house, different problem, same phone number.
Fairfax also gets real winters. When a cold snap drops below freezing for a few days, exposed lines in crawl spaces and unheated garages freeze and split. We run frozen water line repairs every winter, and we take 10 percent off those repairs because nobody plans for a burst pipe in January.
Fairfax and the towns around it
Fairfax City is surrounded by the rest of Fairfax County, and we cover the whole stretch. Out the north and east sides you have Vienna, McLean, and Reston; to the west and northwest sit Herndon and the tech corridor; and to the south and southeast we run Annandale and Burke. If you are anywhere in that ring, the drive from Front Royal is the same hour, and you are on our route.
We run from our shop at 266 Grove Farm Road in Front Royal out to Fairfax and the towns around it. Here is where you will find us on the map.
We pick up the phone, we show up, and we tell you straight what the job needs and what it costs.
