It shines when more than one fixture wants hot water at the same time and the current tank cannot keep up, when you are short on space, when you want to stop paying to keep forty gallons hot around the clock, or when an aging tank is on borrowed time and you would rather replace it once and be done. For larger families and the bigger houses out toward the Valley, sizing the gas and the unit to the real demand is everything.

Gas units need adequate fuel volume and the right vent. We confirm the gas line and meter can feed the unit at full fire, run new line if the existing one is undersized, and install the correct stainless or PVC venting for the model. This is the step most rushed jobs skip, and it is why some tankless units never run right.

What it costs, said straight
We quote on what your house actually needs, not a sticker price pulled off a chart. A tankless install runs more than a basic tank swap, and most of that gap is the work behind the wall, the gas line, the venting, and the unit itself, not labor padding.
If your gas line and vent already suit a tankless unit, the install is cleaner and the number is lower. Will a tankless unit really give me endless hot water?
It gives you continuous hot water at the flow rate it is sized for. As long as the unit is sized to your home’s demand, it heats water on the fly for as long as you keep the tap open, so you do not run out the way a tank does. The catch is sizing. If a unit is undersized and you open too many fixtures at once, it cannot keep up. That is the whole reason we size on your real demand before we order anything.
Can I just swap my old tank for a tankless in the same spot?
Sometimes, but not always. A tankless unit needs more gas volume and different venting than a tank, so the old location only works if the gas line and vent path suit it. In a lot of older Front Royal homes they do not without some upgrading. We check the gas, the vent route, and the power before we quote, and we tell you straight what the spot you have will and will not support.
How long does a tankless install take?

Do tankless heaters need maintenance?
Yes, and it is simple. They want a flush about once a year to clear mineral out of the heat exchanger, and more often if you are on hard well water. Are tankless units worth it in a cold climate like ours?
They are, as long as they are sized for it.
